Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott completed 12-of-15 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's preseason game against the Miami Dolphins.
He also chipped in three carries for 28 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Prescott got some first-team reps with starter Tony Romo only playing a series. He completed his first eight passes in a row, and both of his touchdowns were on perfect back-shoulder throws, with his highlight a 28-yarder to wide receiver Dez Bryant. Prescott has 338 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions through two preseason games. He won't start unless Romo gets injured again, but the real news here is that the Cowboys don't need to hunt for a backup.
Romo only played four games last season, and he struggled in that limited action. Among the 46 quarterbacks to record at least 100 dropbacks on the year, he ranked 40th in Passing Net Expected Points per dropback.
