Arizona Cardinals wide receive J.J. Nelson is now a starter, head coach Bruce Arians confirmed Monday.
He appears to have supplanted inconsistent and injured Michael Floyd in three-receiver sets. A 4.28 second-year speedster, Nelson has parlayed 19 targets the past two games into stat lines of 163 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 11 catches, clearly earning the trust of Carson Palmer. Still, his weekly reliability is likely to waver in a passing offense with Palmer continuing to look washed.
Nelson earned 7.80 Net Expected Points on 12 targets in Week 8, per numberFire Live.
