Washington fourth-round rookie running back Samaje Perine will be an "instant challenger" to Rob Kelley on early downs, confirms John Keim of ESPN.
This was pretty apparent when Washington selected Perine with the 114th pick on Saturday. Kelley and Perine could end up splitting the load, but it all but means the end for Matt Jones tenure in the nation's capital.
Perine rushed for 4,122 rushing yards (6.0 yards per carry) with 49 touchdowns over three seasons as an Oklahoma Sooner. He added 321 receiving yards on 40 catches with two more touchdowns through the air.
