Los Angeles Rams rookie tight end Gerald Everett expects to fill a Jordan Reed-type role.
New head coach Sean McVay was Reed's offensive coordinator the last three years and his position coach before that while Everett looks the part of an athletic mismatch; this could be a match made in heaven. Rookie tight ends always struggle to contribute, but Everett has no proven talent ahead of him on the depth chart.
The only Rams tight end to see a target last year remaining on the roster is Tyler Higbee, who turned in 0.15 Reception Net Expected Points per target on 29 targets. His production in this metric was well below the lowest among the 43 tight ends with at least 30 targets in 2016 (0.32).
