Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has been placed on injured reserve with a broken foot after undergoing surgery on Tuesday.
The Panthers are optimistic Olsen will return this season. He's eligible to practice starting in Week 9, and for game action in Week 11. Ed Dickson will take over as Carolina's starting tight end in the meantime.
Among the 28 tight ends with at least 5 targets this season, Olsen is 23rd in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
