Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles tore his ACL on the same play he broke his arm in Week 3 against the New York Giants, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen.
Sproles will undergo surgery for his arm on Monday while his knee will be operated on at a later date. He's out indefinitely. Wendell Smallwood led the Eagles' backfield with a career-high 43-of-76 (56.6 percent) offensive snaps played in Week 3, and he stands to benefit the most from Sproles' absence. LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement should also see more work.
In three games this season, Sproles totaled 134 offensive yards on 22 touches (7 catches).
