The Philadelphia Eagles acquired running back Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a fourth-round pick.
Ajayi is expected to replace LeGarrette Blount as the Eagles' lead back and he should benefit from an improved offensive line, compared to what he was running behind in Miami. He may not see as much volume as he did for the Dolphins, but this is still an upgrade for Ajayi's fantasy outlook heading into Week 9 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams will likely share backfield duties for the Dolphins.
In seven games with the Dolphins this season, Ajayi rushed 138 times for 465 yards and 0 touchdowns with 14 catches for 67 receiving yards on 20 targets. Among the 19 backs with 100-plus carries this season, his -0.14 Rushing Net Expected Points per carry is third-worst.
