Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson may have suffered a torn ACL at Thursday's practice, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Per Rapoport, it's a non-contact injury for Watson, who has been one of the league's most exciting players in the first half of the season. He'll undergo an MRI to confirm, but it's absolutely devastating news for Texans fans and fantasy owners alike. Tom Savage appears to be headed back under center for Houston in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts. DeAndre Hopkins' outlook will take a significant hit with Watson unavailable.
While hoping for the best, numberFire's models project Watson to complete 21.7-of-33.2 passes for 273.2 yards with 2.67 touchdowns and 0.40 interceptions, with 5.8 rushes for 29.4 yards and 0.32 touchdowns versus the Colts, which would yield 25.5 FanDuel points at a cost of $9,600. If healthy, he's our top-ranked fantasy quarterback for Week 9.
