Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey's "ideal" workload is 25-30 touches per game, head coach Ron Rivera said.
McCaffrey averaged just 12.3 touches per game as a rookie, so that would be a historical leap. Either way, the multi-purpose back remains a safe bet to see a higher workload during his second season in the league.
numberFire's models currently expect McCaffrey to average a more reasonable 14.3 offensive touches per game for a total of 1,431.6 yards and 8.72 touchdowns this season. He's the RB14 in our standard preseason fantasy rankings but will carry more value in PPR formats.
