Players to target: Matthew Tkachuk, Mikael Backlund, and Michael Frolik
This is a line that, much like Patrice Bergeron's line (who was written about last night), has the puck on their sticks too much for them to keep disappointing. While Backlund had two goals in the pervious outing, this line has failed to put it all together and get full line goals.
Tonight, they'll have an advantage at even-strength (64.8 Corsi For per 60 Minutes) and the power play (20.7% power play) against the Vancouver Canucks.
The Canucks usually use Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin to try slowing down the opposing team's best offensive line. On the surface, that would be the line with John Gaudreau and Sean Monahan, leaving Backlund and his line mates to dominate the lesser second and third lines for Vancouver.
It will be an especially good matchup if they can skate against Vancouver's second line since they give up 11.6 Scoring Chances Against per 60 minutes. Look for this team, who is rolling -- 10 wins in last 15 games -- to get production out of their second line.
