NHL
Room for Expansion: Predicting the Vegas Golden Knights' Roster in 2017
The NHL Expansion Draft is coming fast. Where do the Golden Knights stand, and who may be playing in the desert come next season?

Nashville Predators

Ryan Ellis is yet another casualty to the 7-3-1 protection system (one which protected P.K. Subban, Mattias Ekholm and Roman Josi). But this is a blessing in disguise for the Golden Knights. Ellis has a hard shot, skates hard and has average possession numbers -- as shown by his exact 50 in Corsi For. Ellis' average time on ice this season of 24:21 can be huge for a team like Vegas. Finding a defenseman who could eat up almost half the game by himself allows them to create a system which could progress over the course of their inaugural season.
