Players to target: James van Riemsdyk, Tyler Bozak, and Mitchell Marner
This is always a line to consider when the Maple Leafs are at home. They usually avoid opposing top lines and consistently see the best offensive matchups of any of the Leafs' lines. The Dallas Stars took it to the Leafs last week, but on the road and missing Jason Spezza, the Stars will have a tough time shutting down the Leafs' best scoring line.
Marner, Bozak, and Van Riemsdyk have become a better possession line in recent weeks. Last month, they barely owned a 50% Corsi For Percentage, but they are now up to 52.4% while still playing at a high pace -- racking up a 64.3 Corsi For per 60 minutes and 10.8 scoring chances for per 60 minutes.
They are all still on the second power-play unit for a Leafs team that ranks second in converting power plays (23.4%). This trio should see a fair amount of Dallas' third line, which is allowing 55.7 Corsi Against. Look for this line to continue its hot streak (15 points in last four games) against a struggling Stars team that has given up 3.6 goals per game over their last seven outings.
