Earlier in the week in Changing of the Fly, Volume 1, I mentioned that Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville was shuffling his lines Saturday night, moving Brad Richards to an enviable spot between Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp.
Well, Sharp sustained a "lower-body injury" Tuesday night during the third period against the Montreal Canadiens. He's currently "out indefinitely", and the Blackhawks have given very little official information.
During the game, Kane moved up on to a line with Jonathan Toews and Ben Smith, Andrew Shaw played with Marian Hossa for most of the night, and Richards was centering Brandon Saad and Jeremy Morin.
If Coach Q keeps him with Toews and Kane, the obvious winner is Smith. However, the situation is fluid and worth watching going forward.
