NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 11/21/18
The night before Thanksgiving features 14 games in all. Who can you trust on this giant NHL DFS slate?

A good chunk of you probably already play daily fantasy football, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel, because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win.

To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Frederik Andersen ($8,900): The Toronto Maple Leafs' goalie carries some risk because of Toronto's propensity to allow shots. However, in tournament play, trying to find the goalie who will face the most shots is half the battle, and the Carolina Hurricanes still average 40.3 shots per contest. Andersen keeps seeing 30-plus shots on net (five in his last six outings). He has seen 35-plus in three of those games and even saw 45 saves in a win against the San Jose Sharks. Toronto was bound to start allowing more shots and scoring chances at some point. His price is high, but his ceiling is just as high. Wait for confirmations to come in before looking elsewhere. Among cash goalies, Pekka Rinne ($9,200) and Devan Dubnyk ($8,800) could be solid choices on a night like this.

High-Priced Skaters

Taylor Hall ($7,800): Hall has enjoyed an uneven season of sorts for the New Jersey Devils. The points are pretty good (20), but 5 goals on 65 shots is just okay. Scoring chances are up 15% from the first half of last season, and Hall gets Nico Hischier back on his line tonight. With so many choices on the slate, Hall could go less than 5% owned in some tournaments. The night before Thanksgiving also has its fair share of treats and potential for high-scoring games. Alex Ovechkin and Patrick Kane headline the marquis game of the night. However, the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning game could be one to look at for wingers. Mike Hoffman ($6,200) and Nikita Kucherov ($8,200) present themselves as top choices.

Tyler Seguin ($7,700): So, Seguin gets to face the Pittsburgh Penguins, who yield 4.1 goals per game at home and just blew a 4-1 lead the other night to the Buffalo Sabres. Dallas is undermanned to say the least, which may scare ownership away. However, this could set up for a high-paced track meet as Pittsburgh almost cannot play any other way. This sets up well for the Dallas center, who has 94 shots on net already this year and averages over 7 shot attempts per game. Going with the Dallas big line is expensive at over $20,000, but it might be worth it in a few tournaments. Other options you can look to pivot to include Mika Zibanejad ($7,200), Brayden Point ($7,000), and Max Domi ($7,100). All three should be lower-owned this evening.

Value Skaters

Juho Lammikko ($3,000): Lammikko burst onto the scene against the Ottawa Senators, with four primary assists in a 7-5 road win on Monday. If he stays on the second line for the Florida Panthers, he is a minimum-priced play that has to be used for some salary relief. The risk is he could go back to the fourth line as fast as he rose. However, stacking cheap can allow for stacking more expensive elsewhere. Colin White ($3,400), Filip Chytil ($3,600), and even Blake Coleman or Andrew Shaw ($3,800) remain viable value options for Wednesday night.

Ryan Pulock ($3,900): Pulock is high-danger risk tonight. However, his assist, three shots, and three scoring chances against the Dallas Stars were encouraging. Playing the New York Rangers, who turn into a defensive sieve every time they play the Islanders does help here. The Rangers have allowed 3-plus goals in 11 of their last 13 meetings with their rivals. Again, Pulock has largely been a disappointment this season, but a dart play is a dart play for a reason. Other value options could come in the form of Jacob Larsson ($3,500) and Travis Hamonic ($4,000).
