NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 12/10/18
Brayden Point is red-hot coming into tonight's matchup with the Rangers. Who else can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you probably already play daily fantasy football, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel, because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win.

To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Martin Jones ($8,400): The San Jose Sharks are expected to start Jones on Monday night against the New Jersey Devils. New Jersey just allowed six goals (five in regulation and overtime) against Anaheim on Sunday. Jones presents a high-risk play because of his erratic numbers (.900% save percentage, .333% quality start percentage). That latter figure is a career-low for Jones. A progression of sorts is expected, and Jones has been better in his last three starts -- stopping 96 of 101 shots in that span. Check for confirmations later this morning and throughout the day. Also, see who starts for Detroit tonight.

High-Priced Skaters

Anders Lee ($6,500): Lee survived quite an injury scare and is expected to play tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Before that game against Detroit, the Islanders' forward had performed right around 20 FanDuel points for three consecutive outings. Pittsburgh has yielded 17 goals over their last five games, and Lee will also look to avenge a subpar performance in a 6-2 loss to Pittsburgh last week. Several other solid choices exist on Monday -- including Jake Guentzel ($6,900) and Nikita Kucherov ($9,000). As always, some line shifts and goalie confirmations could change a few plays.

Brayden Point ($8,300): Sidney Crosby ownership will be through the roof on a short slate, because Crosby has 113 career real-world points in 65 meetings against the Isles. Point, however, is in a nice spot, as well, and he has 13 real-world points in his last eight contests for the Tampa Bay Lightning. He has at least four shots on goal in four of those eight starts. That creates a solid floor, which is vital on any slate, especially a shorter slate. The New York Rangers yield 4.14 goals per game on the road and just gave up a four spot to the Florida Panthers over the weekend. There are some other tournament possibilities on Monday night, including Logan Couture ($7,500) and Dylan Larkin ($6,900). Larkin has 20-plus FanDuel points in each of his last three starts.

Value Skaters

Anthony Cirelli ($3,300): Cirelli is worth a play to provide cap relief on a night when it is sorely needed. He has real-world points in his last two contests and will encounter the depth of the Rangers' team defense. That defense is the third-worst in the league on the road -- allowing shots at an alarming rate. Average ice time has hovered around 14 minutes for Cirelli, but he does kill penalties, which could add to his floor as far as blocked shots. Brian Boyle ($3,600) is on the radar, too, particularly if he garners some power-play time on Monday night.

Tony DeAngelo ($3,600): DeAngelo brings about a high-risk play on Monday night even at a value rate. He has fired 20 shots across his previous eight games, which is a noticeably higher number than his season-long rate (more than doubling his shot output per game). The risk is the ice-time allotment. He has played more than 20 minutes only once in the past few weeks. There are a couple players who could be worth a look, but watch for the status of Scott Mayfield ($3,700) in particular. Andy Greene ($3,600) is a good floor option due to blocked shots.
