A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel, because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win.
To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Ben Bishop ($8,500): The Dallas Stars are starting Bishop against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night. Buffalo played an up-and-down, 5-4 affair last night against Columbus and will definitely not be rested. The only risk may have to do with shot volume. Can Buffalo get close to 30 shots to make this a worthwhile investment? Wait for other goalie confirmations to see if Linus Ullmark ($8,200) starts for Buffalo. Dallas is -165 on the moneyline and Buffalo comes in at +145.
High-Priced Skaters
Nikita Kucherov ($9,100): Kucherov could match up against the Evgeni Malkin line for Pittsburgh which was torched for four goals on Monday night and at least seven or eight quality scoring chances. The Tampa Bay winger has not scored in his last four contests but has steadily generated 3+ scoring chances in each game. This expects to be an up-and-down, high-event game with at least 30-35 shots by each side. It becomes almost too hard to fade Kucherov, and the key will be to get creative with value skaters similar to Monday night. Alexander Radulov ($6,400) saves some money and enjoys a prime matchup.
Tyler Seguin ($7,800): Seguin is a good tournament or cash option on Wednesday night for two reasons. One, Buffalo may have issues keeping up with his line. Second, the forward was on a tear before the break with 19 shots on goal in the last three contests. Also, he had two power play points in the win over Winnipeg. Buffalo has allowed 23 goals in their last five games and their penalty kill is just under 79% in the last ten road outings. Brayden Point ($8,100) is another solid option but will be highly owned on Wednesday.
Value Skaters
Casey Mittelstadt ($3,700): Mittelstadt only plays about 12-13 minutes a night, but he is being sheltered to maximize his speed and offense. The one surprising thing of late is the center has shown a bit of an increased floor with four blocked shots in his last three games to go along with seven shots on net. This play does carry some risk, but the young pivot may stand a chance to see a little more ice time. Radek Faksa ($4,000) could play some on the top line again for Dallas which immediately increases his value on this kind of slate.
Evan Rodrigues ($3,400): Rodrigues makes it 2-for-2 as far as Buffalo value plays tonight. He has 13 or more FanDuel points in his last four outings (six of the previous seven games). That translates to goals in four straight games and makes him a viable option on Wednesday against a Dallas team that can play inconsistent all too often. Spending this low for a punt play that has this kind of potential cannot hurt. Blake Comeau ($3,200) is another punt play from Dallas, and if he sees top-six ice time again could produce like he did against Winnipeg before the break (16.8 FanDuel points and several scoring chances created).
