NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 3/18/19
Patrick Kane costs a pretty penny but is in a prime spot for Monday's four-game slate. Who else can you trust in DFS tonight?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel, because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win.

To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Corey Crawford ($7,800): The Chicago Blackhawks are projected to start Crawford against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night. The Blackhawks' goalie has allowed just seven goals in his last five games, including a 48-save tour-de-force effort against the Montreal Canadiens in his last start. Vancouver can score some goals but can also allow three or more in any game in no time at all. Meanwhile, Chicago has won five straight games overall as it is starting to look like they have the old Crawford back. Vancouver will be on no rest as they played in Dallas yesterday evening. Andrei Vasilevskiy presents the best chance of winning but is $9,600 on FanDuel. Keep that in mind if there are some obvious values for cash games.

High-Priced Skaters

Mark Scheifele ($7,900): Scheifele projects to have a good matchup against one of the worst home teams in the NHL. The speed and shifty nature of the Winnipeg Jets' top line is difficult to slow down for 60 minutes. Scheifele has goals in two straight games after enduring a five-game drought. Among the high-priced centers, why not go with the best on the slate. Brayden Point ($7,700) presents the second-best option against the Arizona Coyotes and has a few extra stacking options including Victor Hedman or Mikhail Sergachev on Monday night.

Patrick Kane ($9,000): Kane sees a prime matchup against a Canucks team that is running on fumes. With Chicago's speed and top-five power play, Vancouver could have a tough time slowing down the Blackhawks. Ownership may be a hair lower than usual now that Kane has cooled off the last two games. But Vancouver allows 3.11 goals per game on the road with a 79% penalty kill away from home as well. Nikita Kucherov ($9,100) may be the chalkiest play on the wing, but Kane has the highest point potential on Monday night.

Value Skaters

Brandon Pirri ($3,600): Pirri finds ways to score just enough to keep him relevant every so often. All it takes is a goal for him to exceed value. San Jose will be playing a tired Vegas Golden Knights team, but Pirri should have plenty of energy in the tank. His speed drives the San Jose Sharks downright batty. That should be enough to generate quality scoring chances along with the Vegas second line as well. For other options, riding the goal wave from Brendan Perlini at $3,900 may be a decent enough option on this short slate.

Michael Grabner ($3,400): Grabner is moderate-risk because of his low ice time (14 minutes per contest), but he generates chances and is a short-handed dynamo (eight short-handed points). He has an up and down nature when it comes to production but again Grabner's price is more of a punt play at this juncture. His ability to attack a defense is a major asset. The Tampa Bay Lightning are especially vulnerable to that kind of quick acceleration. It was something many felt more teams need to do against Tampa Bay. Tanner Pearson ($3,300) is another cheap option to look at on Monday.
