A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
And our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Mike Smith ($7,700): The Edmonton Oilers' goalie expects to face the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night. Philadelphia plays on the back end of a back-to-back and have lost their last six games against the Pacific Division at night. Smith has enjoyed three quality starts (allowing two goals or less) in his four games. Martin Jones ($7,500) presents as a possible value option for the San Jose Sharks with the expectation that he could face 30+ shots on net against an active Carolina Hurricanes team.
High-Priced Skaters
Connor McDavid ($9,300): The center enjoys a great plus-matchup versus the Flyers tonight. He is one of the few players near 25 FanDuel points per night. McDavid averages right around three shots a game while generating just over four prime scoring chances a night. Philadelphia gives up chances at a 40 per 60-minute pace and again they are not rested. Pairing McDavid with Leon Draisaitl ($8,600) is plausible with some shrewd value choices. Several other players are available tonight including Auston Matthews ($8,800) and Logan Couture ($7,300) -- who could surprise against the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
Jake Guentzel ($7,500): Guentzel gets a solid matchup against the Colorado Avalanche where their bottom-six often gets hit hard possession and chance wise. Pittsburgh receives the option for last line change which will be big tonight as the Penguins try to play with less than a full roster. This means more minutes for players like Sidney Crosby and Guentzel. These two players gain full correlation on the power-play as well. Cam Atkinson ($7,600) and Gabriel Landeskog ($7,100) are some under-the-radar plays for tonight.
Value Skaters
Brandon Tanev ($3,600): Injuries have forced Tanev up into the middle-six for Pittsburgh. That is good news for anyone who owns him because he has gone double-digit points on FanDuel in three consecutive contests now. Defensively, Tanev can be a bit of a question mark but his early value as a balanced forward is not. He averages two shots and two blocks a game. Also, Tanev has three assists in six games this season. Ondrej Kase ($4,000) and Martin Necas ($3,500) -- Necas has points in four-straight games for Carolina.
Marcus Pettersson ($3,700): The Penguins got lucky with Pettersson in the offseason and now he is trying to assert himself again. He has three real-world points in his last five games and had two assists in the wild win over the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday. Slowly, Pettersson is garnering more ice time -- even if it is because of injury and other defenders' poor play. Cody Ceci ($3,800) could garner some value as his blocked shots projections are elevated tonight and could easily reach 3+.
