A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Braden Holtby ($8,900): The Washington Capitals have been hotter than the sun, and Hotlby's steady play is a big reason why. He is 10-1-1 in his last 12 starts with a solid .922 save percentage in that span. It seems like a lifetime ago when Holtby got off to that awful start five games in. That sent most into a panic but not Washington. They held firm by their starting goaltender and have been rewarded. Options are light on the two-game slate but maybe Keith Kinkaid is worth the risk or even Henrik Lundqvist for save count. Kinkaid is $7,600, and Lundqvist is just $7,400.
High-Priced Skaters
Evgeny Kuznetsov ($7,900): With a lack of higher-priced plays on such a short slate, Kuznetsov tops the list out of default due to injury. The Washington Capitals forward is up to a point-per-game on the season basically (21 points in 20 games) and faces a Rangers team that is allowing over 3.5 goals per game at home over their previous six games. The center is also up to 2.5 shots per game, which helps a bottom line from a peripheral perspective. Ryan Strome should be higher-priced but is basically a mid-tiered option because of his $5,500 price tag.
Artemi Panarin ($8,700): Panarin has been producing DFS points at the rate of an Alex Ovechkin ($8,400) over the past ten contests. Panarin has 20+ FanDuel points in six of his last seven outings. He is taking on more of a role and as a result, the winger is averaging over four shots a night during this span. Panarin creating more than three scoring chances per night, has been helpful as well. Obviously, Ovechkin is the other high-priced wing option on Wednesday night, as again, choices are light in the upper tiers.
Value Skaters
Nick Suzuki ($3,400): The Ottawa Senators give up a slate-worst 3.82 goals per game and are on the back end of a back-to-back. It may be a decent idea to look into Montreal's middle-six for salary relief on Wednesday night. Suzuki is cheap and produces decently enough with a couple scoring chances a night. Also, Suzuki has averaged just above 17 minutes a night over the last two contests.
Tyler Ennis ($3,400): Ennis has nine points in 21 games this year -- including five goals. He also averages two shots a game and nearly one block per contest. Ottawa gives up as much value as they get. So, players like Ennis become more valuable on short slates. With Keith Kinkaid starting as oppose to Carey Price, few plays are truly out of bounds.
