NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 1/14/20
Eleven games are on the slate Tuesday night. So, who can you trust besides Auston Matthews on this night?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Thomas Greiss ($7,700): The New York Islanders were angered after being routed by the New York Rangers last night. They expect to take that out on the Detroit Red Wings tonight. Greiss expects to get the start after Semyon Varlamov was roughed up at MSG on Monday night. Greiss mopped up the final 9+ minutes and played well in his last start against New Jersey -- stopping 32 of 35 shots for the win. He comes in as a cheap choice tonight against the worst team in hockey. Andrei Vasilevskiy ($9,200) is the goalie who faces as light of an offense in the Los Angeles Kings.

High-Priced Skaters

Auston Matthews ($8,600): The center is producing well and has 11 real-world points in his last seven games. Playing the New Jersey Devils should help boost his numbers. Even against the Florida Panthers on Sunday, Matthews had six shots on goal and five scoring chances. Expect more of the same on Tuesday as New Jersey may be playing better but their goaltending situation is up in the air. Both teams should be able to generate lots of chances but the Matthews line will be the one with the spotlight. Connor McDavid ($9,300) has potential going up against a Nashville Predators team that has played improved defense of late.

Patrick Kane ($8,200): Kane has one of the better matchups among wingers out there. He plays against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. Kane has three assists in his last three games but 15 shots on goal in that span. He has not scored in four consecutive games. Ottawa is slumping mightily of late -- giving up a whopping 21 goals over their last five games. Chicago has scored 16 goals in their last five contests. This could be a higher-scoring game with a good deal of offense from the Kane line. Max Pacioretty ($7,600) could be a surprise roll of the dice against a Buffalo Sabres penalty kill that converts just 75% of the time.

Value Skaters

Calle Jarnkrok ($3,800): Jarnkrok is a risky option because his ice time may start to drop soon. However, he can provide a high shot output (five shots last time out). The problem is he has gone pointless over his last six contests. Scoring chances are around two a game or so but he just cannot convert. The longer this drought goes the more likely other players will steal time from him. Edmonton is a team that can give up some goals even at home so this may be an opportunity to buy low. Kailer Yamamoto ($3,700) is also a nice choice with five points in six games for Edmonton while playing with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

Jakob Chychrun ($3,700): Chychrun's floor has increased over the last four contests and that has been helped by blocking three shots a game. Yes, he has gone pointless in this span but he has seven scoring chances too. That is a solid number for a defenseman of his ilk. Ryan Graves ($3,700) of the Colorado Avalanche has run into a streak of bad luck but does have 24 shots over his previous nine games. He could be one to watch for on Tuesday night.
