NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 2/11/20
There are 11 NHL games on Tuesday's slate with Auston Matthews leading the way. Who else can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at a goalie, some high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Igor Shesterkin ($8,200): The New York Rangers' goaltender will make his first career NHL road start against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. So far, Shesterkin has been amazing with a 5-1 record, 2.34 goals-against average, and .933 save percentage. Winnipeg ranks 28th in the league at home with just 2.63 goals per contest. The goaltender was amazing against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night, as he stopped 42 of 43 shots in a win that was anything but a rout. Jack Campbell ($8,000) projects to start for the Toronto Maple Leafs against an Arizona Coyotes team that is not rested.

High-Priced Skaters

Auston Matthews ($9,000): The Toronto center was slowed down a bit by Montreal of all teams on Saturday, held to three shots and one blocked shot. The same is not as likely on Tuesday against an Arizona team with grave injury concerns in net. His home numbers are otherworldly, averaging over 1.5 real-world points a game. Furthermore, he has 29 goals in 28 home contests on a whopping 132 shots. It will be difficult to fade the center everywhere on Tuesday night. Look to stack him with cheaper options from the blueline, etc. Nathan MacKinnon ($8,800) and his home splits are a good alternative from the Colorado Avalanche.

Patrik Laine ($8,000): Laine is on fire with five goals in his previous three games. When the winger gets hot like this, it is just best to ride it out and keep playing him. Overall, he tallied nine goals in the last nine contests while averaging almost 3.7 shots per night. The winger faces a Rangers team starting a rookie goaltender on the road. New York allows 3.29 goals per game away from home and Winnipeg, mostly on Laine's shoulders, is 4-0-1 in their last five. New York's road penalty kill is just 76.7%. That will be something Laine and the Jets attack. Even with a questionable Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl ($8,300) remains an okay option against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Value Skaters

Kaapo Kakko ($3,700): This is another dicey choice tonight, but Kakko has double-digit FanDuel points in three of his last four outings. That includes nine shots and seven scoring chances in the span. Those scoring chances coming up helps even though Kakko mostly plays middle-six ice time and deployment wise. His power-skating ability should cause Winnipeg's depth some significant problems. Denis Gurianov ($3,800) has two goals in his previous three starts for the Dallas Stars.

Jakob Chychrun ($3,700): The Arizona defenseman has stayed around this price almost all season, which means he is a "must play" every single time. With Oliver Ekman-Larsson battling a knee issue, Chychrun is getting the top minutes for the Coyotes. This is a good matchup against a Toronto team often allergic to defense. The combination of shots and blocked shots is likely high in this game. He is riding a four-game point streak with 16 shots and 5 blocked shots in that time. Adam Fox ($3,700) is going against a Winnipeg Jets penalty kill that can barely kill 75% of its penalties and is also a viable choice tonight.
