A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at a goalie, some high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Ben Bishop ($8,400): The Dallas Stars expect to start Bishop for Game 1 against the Calgary Flames tonight. There was some talk that Bishop was battling an undisclosed injury but he is healthy now. The thought process is that Dallas plays a style that can slow down the Flames offense which scored 3+ goals with great frequency against an injured Winnipeg Jets squad. This is one of the few matchups where the 5.5 goals projection has a better chance of going under. See who starts for the Vegas Golden Knights in net if one can hold out until closer to the 3:00 pm ET lock.
High-Priced Skaters
Sebastian Aho ($8,100): The first game between the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins could be a little higher scoring than expected. Carolina is well rested after a three-game sweep of the New York Rangers, while Boston looked sluggish in the round-robin format. This may set up for a wider open than usual Game 1. Aho's line could not be contained by the Rangers -- especially in Games 2 and 3. Overall, he had three goals and eight points with ten shots on net. The center will be in a clash of clashes matchup against the Patrice Bergeron line. However, Aho has enjoyed some success against the Boston top line recently.
David Pastrnak ($8,600): Pastrnak looked like he was just trying to stay healthy during the round-robin. That seemed to be the mantra of the Boston Bruins throughout that whole process. Now, there is one caveat. Pastrnak was unable to practice on Monday but still expects to play on Tuesday. If he goes, expect him to perform well as Carolina expects to still miss Brett Pesce and maybe a limited Dougie Hamilton. Carolina allowed 38 shots in Game 3 against the Rangers in their closeout game. Boston could come close to that shot output in the opening game and Pastrnak would figure to play a big role in that. Max Pacioretty ($7,600) is a viable alternative and expects to play with Mark Stone tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Value Skaters
Milan Lucic ($3,400): Lucic has been a rather pleasant surprise for the Calgary Flames. He has points in consecutive games in what feels like forever. The winger was a force in the series against Winnipeg as he was able to throw his weight around. Expect him to play around 14-16 minutes against an equally physical Dallas team. The only risk is a lower floor for Lucic (1.25 shots per game versus Winnipeg). Ondrej Kase ($3,500) is another option from the Boston Bruins and expects to be still slotted on the second line.
Connor Murphy ($4,000): The Chicago Blackhawks defenseman presents an excellent floor of shots and blocked shots against a Vegas team that can easily produce 35+ shots against a Chicago team that allowed nearly 36 shots per 60 in Corey Crawford starts this season. Murphy has been logging a lot of minutes (25 in the final game of the Edmonton Oilers series). He had an assist, four shots on goal, and a couple of blocks in that game. Murphy will draw another challenging assignment but his price is too low to pass up. David Savard ($3,800) is a similar type of defenseman from the Columbus Blue Jackets who will be up against the Tampa Bay Lightning top six.
