3 NHL FanDuel Studs to Target on Tuesday 5/10/22

Spending up in any daily fantasy lineup is how to get the superstars and the highest upside players in your lineup.

In NHL DFS, it’s different from spending up in sports like NBA or NFL. Someone can be one of the highest salaried players at his position and put up a total dud of a performance, and paying that much for him would be a huge mistake. Let’s make sure we are spending salary in the right spots when building our lineups tonight.

Tuesday night still has four more Game 4s. Here are some studs.

Connor McDavid, Center, Edmonton Oilers

FanDuel Salary: $9,900

Connor McDavid has dipped below $10,000 for the first time in a long time. The Edmonton Oilers center anchors a team that may be expected to approach four goals on Tuesday night at home versus the Los Angeles Kings.

The Oilers are tied at two games apiece with the Kings and McDavid was held off the scoreboard during Game 4.

That did not sit well with the center and who could blame him. Edmonton looked lost for most of the game on Sunday night. At one point, Edmonton was struggling just to get shots on goal.

McDavid is the top play on Tuesday even with Auston Matthews at home for Toronto as well. The center did have five scoring chances last game.

Expect Edmonton to get a few more power plays on Tuesday night. The center will respond and do not be afraid to stack players like Evander Kane and Evan Bouchard or even Kailer Yamamoto.

Kirill Kaprizov, Wing, Minnesota Wild

FanDuel Salary: $9,300

In the last three games of the series between Minnesota and St. Louis, Kaprizov has topped 20+ FanDuel points in each of those contests.

Now, that includes five goals and an assist with a hat trick coming in Game 2. Kaprizov has 15 shots and 18 scoring chances in this span.

He also scored a power-play goal as well in Game 2. Kaprizov has made adjustments to keep getting open and using some different transitional tacts. That has caused St. Louis some considerable headaches.

The Russian has made "the land of 10,000 lakes" home and he should feel at home Tuesday night.

Morgan Rielly, Defenseman, Toronto Maple Leafs

FanDuel Salary: $6,000

The options dwindle a bit on Tuesday night from the blueline. Morgan Rielly is a stud who has produced consistently for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Rielly has a goal and three assists against Tampa Bay in four games but has been on the verge of breaking out. Also, he has eight shots and eight blocked shots which provides a decent floor.

The Toronto defenseman has a safe floor but again could be a surprising play on Tuesday over some more volatile blueliners. There may be some more value defenders to try but for studs, Rielly is a safe choice.
