3 FanDuel Premier League Under-the-Radar Plays for Matchweek 8
Tottenham players will be popular picks thanks to their date with Cardiff City, but Watford's Troy Deeney could provide a nice return in a not-so-obvious spot.

If you have played daily fantasy sports for a while, you know the importance of being contrarian in large-field tournaments. Recognizing which players are going to be owned by the masses and finding others who you think have a similar point projection but will come at much lower ownership can really separate yourself from your opponents.

The same goes for DFS Premier League. Even though the large-field tournaments aren't quite as large as they are for other sports, there is still value in identifying quality under-the-radar plays.

This article will discuss FanDuel's main Saturday slate, which starts at 10:00 a.m. EST and features six matches.

Matchweek 8
Saturday, October 6th
Everton at Leicester City
Huddersfield at Burnley
Bournemouth at Watford
Wolves at Crystal Palace
Cardiff at Tottenham
Newcastle at Manchester United

The eighth main slate of the season features only two elite sides, providing less high priced options than past weeks. Tottenham is the largest favorite on the slate, with a spread of 1.5 goals and an implied win probability of 82.8% at home against Cardiff. Manchester United are a close second, with a spread of 1 goal and an implied win probability of 70.6% at home against Newcastle. Neither of these elite sides is in inspiring form, but Tottenham have been the better of the two recently, and they should command the highest ownership on the slate.

Outside of the elite sides, the remaining four matches are all very close, with no team having an implied win probability greater than 48.8%. This creates a situation where ownership should be less concentrated than in past weeks, especially with the lack of confident options available at the top end of the price range. Harry Kane ($13,000) is the exception. He has three goals in his last two matches and is likely to be the highest owned player on the slate. Fading Kane is risky but certainly worth thinking about for tournaments this weekend.

With that in mind, here are three players to consider -- especially for tournament formats -- this weekend.
