Salary: $9,000
The midfield position is full of excellent middle tier options this weekend. James Maddison ($8,500), Heung-Min Son ($8,000), Ryan Fraser ($8,000), Richarilson ($8,000), Johann Berg Gudmundsson ($7,500), and Erik Lamela ($7,500) are all set up for success at a reasonable price. Lineups that include Kane and a value striker will likely include three of those options and pay down slightly at defender. By fading Kane and going with a Watford double stack at forward, salary is freed up to pay up slightly at all three midfield positions as well as defender.
Pogba is only $1,000 more than most of these options, but with Manchester United being in turmoil and having the late afternoon game, he might go overlooked in favor of the numerous options listed above. While Pogba has been constantly criticized off the field, his on the field performances have been good this season. Through seven matches he is averaging 20.77 FanDuel points, only failing to produce double-digit points twice, and only failing to produce over 20 points three times.
As bad as things have been for Manchester United, they been far worse for Newcastle. They are winless through seven matches, and have conceded two goals to each of the three elite sides they faced this season. They are conceding 17.3 shots per game on the road this season, the fifth most in the Premier League, while maintaining the fourth least possession at a miserable 40.1%. No matter how bad things seem for Manchester United, if their star midfielder is going to be under-owned at home against Newcastle, he is worth considering for tournaments.
