Best Pick: Dustin Pedroia
One of the themes of this draft was how long middle infielders lasted, as the 10th player at either second base or shortstop lasted until well after the first 100 picks.
Veteran Dustin Pedroia may not be the most exciting pick, but he provides a great deal of value at 139th overall. As part of one of the most prolific offenses in major league baseball in 2016, Pedroia mashed his way to a 15-homer, 105-run season, all while batting a cool .318. And keep in mind for average leagues -- Pedroia has never recorded a season at the majors with an average under .288 while the league average in 2016 fell to .255.
With Pedroia slated to bat leadoff again, he could be in for a nice 2017 campaign at a dirt cheap price. In this draft, he was the last (14th) starting second baseman selected.
