Another Padre to look at against the struggling Jeff Hoffman tonight is Yangervis Solarte.

As I mentioned, Hoffman has been terrible through his first three starts (with a 6.60 ERA) and didn't have a great minor league stint this year, either, with a 4.02 ERA in 22 Triple-A starts.

Solarte has shown improvement from the plate with each year he has been in the majors. He is slashing .278/.337/.476 with a .346 wOBA and .198 ISO through 383 plate appearances this season.

A switch-hitter, Solarte has done his best work against right-handed pitching this season, slashing .282/.340/.481 with a solid 34.4% hard-hit rate.
