4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Studs to Target on 9/8/16
Ryan Schimpf has some insane batted-ball stats over the second half of the season, including a 67.0% fly-ball rate, and he gets a great matchup against Jeff Hoffman.

Ryan Schimpf, 2B, San Diego Padres

FanDuel Price: $3,000

Ryan Schimpf is a little cheaper than someone we typically profile in this series, but his situation is so great that it has to be mentioned. It's a night to target Schimpf and the other San Diego Padres' left-handed sticks for their meeting with Colorado Rockies' rookie righty Jeff Hoffman.

The sample size is minuscule, but Hoffman has really struggled with lefties in his first 15 MLB innings. In truth, with a 6.61 SIERA, 7.4% strikeout rate, and 11.8% walk rate, Hoffman hasn't found much success versus anyone, but it's been brutal against opposite-handed hitters. Versus lefties, Hoffman is surrendering a 35.3% hard-hit hate and 39.4% fly-ball rate while recording an almost nonexistent 2.5% strikeout rate.

Schimpf, despite being listed at 5'9" and 181 pounds, has some serious power. He owns a .400 wOBA in the second half with a 40.4% hard-hit rate and 67.0% fly-ball rate -- the latter of which isn't a typo. The dude is trying to yak on balls every time he steps into the box.

For the year, he has put up a 40.0% hard-hit rate and 60.8% fly-ball rate against right-handed pitchers. You're going to want all of the Schimpf tonight. All of it.
