3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 9/18/16
Even in a tough matchup, Ryan Braun offers huge upside, and his low salary is very enticing. Who else can provide solid fantasy production at a discount price?

Delino DeShields, OF, Texas Rangers

FanDuel Price: $2,300

This one has as much to do with the matchup and situation for Delino DeShields Jr. as it has to do with his own abilities.

The Rangers have a massive 6.16 implied total (by far the highest on the main slate) as they host Ross Detwiler at the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park, which checks in 6th in park factor. If he's in the lineup, DeShields will likely have the honor of batting leadoff, which would ensure him plenty of plate appearances to take advantage of the matchup.

Detwiler owns a 5.16 SIERA on the year (his second-straight season above 5.00), and he is posting a mere 13.9% strikeout rate with an 8.9% walk rate. He has been especially bad against right-handed hitters, allowing a .353 wOBA while pitching to a 5.24 xFIP.

Through his first two seasons, DeShields has done his best work against left-handed pitching. His production hasn't exactly inspired confidence, but his price tag is low enough that the matchup and the fact that the lineup around him will likely be generating plenty of offense is enough to make him a solid fantasy value.
