At just 25 years old, a young Pedro wound up with an 8.5 WAR in 31 starts and 241.1 innings. He earned a FIP of 2.39 on 11.37 strikeouts per nine and a total of 305 strikeouts.

He would go on to win his first ever Cy Young and make a trip to his second straight All-Star game.
