At the age of 40, in the very last of his 10 All-Star seasons, the Big Unit won 16 games and racked up a 9.6 WAR in a career-high 35 starts. His FIP was 2.30 and he struck out 10.62 hitters per nine innings.

Johnson finished second in NL Cy Young voting behind only Roger Clemens. Again, at the age of 40.
