While Miguel Sano's 35.8% strikeout rate through his first two years in the majors tends to make him a pretty volatile option, he also has the kind of power that's rare to see in a daily fantasy value play. He finished the 2016 season with a 40.1% hard-hit rate, 45.8% fly ball rate and .227 isolated power (ISO).
Sano has been especially productive against southpaws in his career, posting a .360 wOBA and .247 ISO through 205 career plate appearances versus lefties. That puts him in a great spot tonight against Danny Duffy, who, despite posting some career-best numbers in 2016, still posted a 4.08 xFIP and allowed a 38.6% hard-hit rate against right-handed hitters.
The Minnesota Twins' lineup isn't out yet, but Sano has been hitting in the heart of the order for the Twins in the spring. We project him to bat fourth today, meaning he should see plenty of opportunities to take advantage of this matchup.
