FanDuel Price: $2,700
An injury-filled 2016 and quiet start to this year has Shin-Soo Choo sporting a pretty low price tag despite being in a good spot tonight.
The Texas Rangers will be playing at home in hitter-friendly Globe Life Park tonight, and Choo will be dueling with Cleveland Indians right-hander Danny Salazar. Salazar is no pushover, and his strikeout ability is a concern. But the Indians' fireballer did allow a 35.4% hard-hit rate with only a 12.7% soft-hit rate against lefty bats last season.
Choo's production against righties in 2016 was really disappointing as he had an ugly .299 wOBA, but there's plenty of room to expect him to bounce back from that. He only had a .280 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) against righties despite cracking them for a 43.8% hard-hit rate with only a 6.3% soft-hit rate.
Comparing those numbers to his career averages versus right-handers (.353 BABIP and .389 wOBA on a 36.7% hard-hit rate) leaves a ton of reason to be optimistic.
