FanDuel Price: $2,000
Another minimum-salary punt (and one I prefer to Mallex Smith if you're only looking to roster one of the two), Mitch Haniger is our model's second-best point-per-dollar value of the day, and the best on the main slate.
We don't have much of a sample size for Haniger in the bigs, with 123 plate appearances a rookie last year and 15 so far this season, but he has shown some real promise. In 101 plate appearances against righties, he has posted a 34.7% hard-hit rate and 45.8% fly ball rate with only a 13.9% soft-hit rate.
Joe Musgrove isn't exactly an intimidating matchup either, having finished 2016 with a 3.98 SIERA and allowing a 34.6% hard-hit rate, and Haniger's batted-ball numbers show some really interesting upside, especially when you take his price tag into account.
