Joey Gallo doesn't offer any sort of safety from a fantasy standpoint, with a comical 50.3% strikeout rate through 165 major league plate appearances. That would be enough to scare me off most players, but he combines that strikeout rate with a ton of pop, which we can see by his 45.0% hard-hit rate and 40.0% fly-ball rate.

He's cheap enough that you can afford to take on the risk involved in playing him, and today's matchup with Raul Alcantara also helps to ease that risk a little bit.

Alcantara has only thrown in 5 major league games so far and has posted a 13.6% strikeout rate. He didn't show a lot of strikeout potential at the minor league level either, with an 18.6% strikeout rate in Triple-A and 18.7% in Double-A in 2016.
