FanDuel Price: $2,400
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Although he's dealing with a calf injury, Josh Donaldson has posted a 1.097 OPS with a 38.5% hard-hit rate to start the year, and should get some long looks from daily fantasy players. Manny Machado will face southpaw Drew Pomeranz at Fenway Park and will look to continue crushing lefties like he did in 2016 (.919 OPS, 37.0% hard-hit rate).
The Atlanta Braves will take on new Miami Marlins starter Dan Straily, who posted a healthy 10.2% swinging strike rate in 2016. Adonis Garcia compiled just a .300 wOBA and .145 Isolated Power (ISO) against right-handers last year.
Why You Should Use Him:
A tough 2017 debut aside, Straily struggled against right-handers despite a strong campaign last year. He surrendered a .322 wOBA against them, compared to just .290 against left-handers.
He also gives up a ton of fly balls to right-handed hitters, which is evidenced by his 49.7% fly-ball rate and 34.4% hard-hit rate from last season.
Garcia has gotten off to a rough start, but did put the ball in the air more against righties (28.3% fly-ball rate) than lefties (22.2%) in 2016. All of this adds up to a potentially big day for the young Braves third baseman.
