Kole Calhoun is in a pretty solid spot on Monday as the Los Angeles Angels take on righty Charlie Morton and the Houston Astros.
Morton played only four games in 2016 because of a hamstring injury, but he was awful against left-handed sticks in his last full season (2015), allowing a .384 wOBA on a big 37.3% hard-hit rate, posting a 4.29 xFIP.
On the other hand, Calhoun showed a lot of promise against right-handed pitching last season, with a 36.1% hard-hit rate and a 40.4% fly-ball rate. He's off to a slow start to the 2017 season, but a favorable matchup like this will give him a good chance to find his groove.
