In his young career, lefty Corey Seager has held his own against southpaw pitchers, with a career 40.7% hard-hit rate and 108 wRC+. He's a rising star and one of the rare lefties you can consider using against same-side hurlers.
However, his matchup with Robbie Ray isn't one of those times. It's true that, historically, Ray has struggled with both walks and hard contact. In 2016, he had a 9.2% walk rate and 36.6% hard-hit rate.
But Ray's career numbers against lefties are significantly better. Last season, he struck them out 26.7% of the time, with a 6.1% walk rate and 30.9% hard-hit rate. These are hardly numbers you want to attack in DFS.
The matchup makes Seager and other Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed bats unappealing plays.
