The very next season, Clemente outplayed his previous one. On offense, he put up higher numbers all across the board -- his 91 RBI were the third-highest total of his career and his 19 home runs helped to create a 163 wRC+, second only to Clemente's all-time personal best of 170.
His wOBA of .418 also tied a previous career high as Clemente got on base more than two out of every five at-bats (.411). That year, his WAR rose to 7.0.
And, keeping with the status quo, Clemente won a Gold Glove and appeared in the All-Star game.
