4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/1/17
Julio Teheran may have a 3.38 ERA, but his peripheral stats suggest some regression is on the way. Who else should you avoid in Monday's daily fantasy baseball contests?

Julio Teheran, SP, Atlanta Braves

FanDuel Price: $8,400

At first glance, Julio Teheran and his 3.38 ERA against a scuffling New York Mets team looks like a good matchup.

But a 5.19 SIERA and 12.0% walk rate say he might not be doing as well as it would appear. His strikeout rate is just 17.6%, which is way down from last year's 22.0%, and his 7.8% swinging-strike rate suggests it's not just a bout of bad luck, either.

Furthermore, the Mets should be able to roll out a slew of lefties, which Teheran has always struggled with. In his career, he has just a 16.6% strikeout rate against them, along with a 4.96 FIP and 4.77 xFIP.

The one saving grace for Teheran is a 23.3% hard-hit rate this year, but that's hardly enough to justify taking a chance.
