FanDuel Price: $2,900
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Don't look now, but Matt Carpenter is starting to heat up -- now the owner of a .406 wOBA, Carpenter has racked up double-digit FanDuel points in each of his last five games.
As a member of one of the league's worst offenses, which has posted a .291 wOBA, Kendrys Morales probably won't be the first choice for many players this evening. However, a strong matchup warrants some serious consideration for Morales and other Jays.
Why You Should Use Him:
Trevor Bauer is priced like a near-ace on Monday at $8,800, but he sure hasn't pitched like one in 2017. Over 27 innings pitched, Bauer's walked 9.9% of hitters and allowed a .390 wOBA to left-handed bats en route to a 7.67 ERA. Bauer's 41.0% hard-hit rate certainly isn't helping matters, either.
Part of the reason for the Blue Jays' struggles is the play of Morales and many others -- while he's posted a strong .189 ISO so far, his .311 wOBA would be his lowest since 2014.
Morales has, however, performed far better against right-handed pitching, logging a .211 ISO this year. That number gets a bit better at the Rogers Centre, where he's posted a .342 wOBA and .233 ISO against right-handed pitching.
Perhaps Bauer can help snap Morales and the Blue Jays out of their funk -- they are currently slight favorites and have an implied team total of 4.33 runs.
