Carlos Carrasco isn't as dangerous as Scherzer, but he's also having a fairly strong season, with a 3.21 SIERA and 25.8% strikeout rate through six starts. This would be his fourth straight season with a strikeout rate north of 25%.
He draws an excellent matchup with the Cleveland Indians being the day's third-biggest favorites (-165 money line) against the Toronto Blue Jays, who have the third-lowest implied total on the slate (3.54).
The Jays have been awful against right-handed pitching this season, with a top-10 strikeout rate and an ugly 78 wRC+ that ranks 26th. If you're not looking to pay all the way up for Scherzer, Carrasco is also a very strong play.
