FanDuel Price: $6,500
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
The main slate doesn't feature a ton of strong pitching options -- the two studs of the day play in the afternoon, which isn't part of the main slate.
The most expensive option on the slate is Brandon McCarthy, who's returning from injury. Dan Straily is the second-priciest arm, but is a slight underdog against the Houston Astros.
Perhaps the best option is Seattle Mariners starter Yovani Gallardo -- but he probably won't see a ton of play. The right-hander only striking out 15.8% of hitters and has posted a 4.63 SIERA so far this year.
Why You Should Use Him:
There are a few positives in Gallardo's favor that make him an intriguing option on this small slate.
First and foremost, the Oakland Athletics, his opponent, strikeout a ton against right-handed pitching (23.2%, sixth most in the league), and they're in the bottom third of the league's offenses against righties (ranking 21st with a .313 team wOBA).
Gallardo has also done a nice job of limiting hard contact this year, allowing a 28.7% hard-hit rate.
The Mariners are favorites by a slight margin, so Gallardo should be low owned, but could be in line for a big evening. With such a low price point, he'll allow owners to load up on some high-priced bats.
