4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/18/17
Edinson Volquez has struggled against left-handed hitters this season, and Yasmani Grandal offers huge upside in this matchup. Who else should you target for big-time fantasy value on Thursday?

Jed Lowrie, 2B, Oakland Athletics

FanDuel Price: $2,300

Jed Lowrie has had a strong year against righties so far, with a .345 wOBA and an excellent batted-ball profile, including a 39.4% hard-hit rate, 12.1% soft-hit rate and 50.0% fly-ball rate.

His recent contact numbers have been solid as well, ranking 79th in average exit velocity and 70th in average batted-ball distance among hitters with at least 10 batted balls over the past 10 days (a sample of over 300 players).

Despite these strong numbers, he's barely priced above minimum-salary in a matchup with Boston Red Sox righty Hector Velazquez, who will be making his first big league start after posting a decent, but not exciting 3.71 xFIP in 5 Triple-A starts this year, and Lowrie offers some strong value.
