5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/22/17
Tyler Collins has a 42.3% hard-hit rate this season and is nice and cheap in a plus matchup against Brad Peacock of the Astros. Who else should you target for big-time daily fantasy baseball value on Monday?

Kenny Vargas, 1B, Minnesota Twins

FanDuel Price: $3,000

Ubaldo Jimenez has had a brutal start for the Baltimore Orioles, posting a 5.37 SIERA and 13.1% walk rate through eight starts. This also doesn't look to be any kind of fluke, as he's coming off a 2016 campaign that saw him finish with a 4.75 SIERA and 11.3% walk rate. To make matters worse, he's allowing a career-high 34.4% hard-hit rate -- a number that jumps to 40.4% if we look at his performance against left-handed sticks in 2017.

The switch-hitting Kennys Vargas has produced really well in a small sample against right-handed pitching this season (.437 wOBA), and while that's not likely a sustainable pace, it is a promising sign for his ability to take advantage of a matchup this good.

numberFIre's models project Vargas as the third-best point-per-dollar value among Monday's batters.
