FanDuel Price: $2,700
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
The catcher position can be a tough one to navigate on small slates, but there's plenty of affordable options Thursday night.
Jonathan Lucroy is starting to heat back up (he's posted double-digit FanDuel points four times over the last week) and is priced at only $3,200. After a really rough start, Chris Herrmann has homered in three consecutive games and is only $2,500.
A guy who may get ignored due to playing time is Milwaukee Brewers backstop Jett Bandy. He's in a platoon with Manny Pina and hasn't seen the lion's share of plate appearances with a lefty on the mound (12 plate versus Pina's 29).
Why You Should Use Him:
Figuring out the Brewers catching position can be tough -- especially since both are right-handed bats. But if Bandy is in the lineup, he's in a good spot.
Bandy will face Robbie Ray, who's had a little tougher time this season against righties. They've knocked him for a .320 wOBA (versus a .251 mark for lefties), and they've also posted a 45.3% hard-hit rate to accompany a 41.7% fly-ball rate.
In an extremely limited sample size, Bandy has shown some explosive numbers against left-handed pitching. In those 12 plate appearances, he's got two doubles, a homer, and two walks -- good for a 335 wRC+.
If Bandy gets time behind the dish, he's a cheap option with some upside.
