5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/30/17
Matt Carpenter owns a 44.7% hard-hit rate against righties this season, and his matchup tonight with Kenta Maeda isn't an especially worrying one. Who else should you target for big-time fantasy value on Tuesday?

Nick Castellanos, 3B, Detroit Tigers

FanDuel Price: $2,500

The Kansas City Royals will be giving Eric Skoglund his first major league start of his career tonight.

Skoglund has eight career Triple-A starts (all in 2017), with an unimpressive 4.53 ERA and 4.26 xFIP, and right-handed hitters have tagged him for a .309/.358/.439 slash in minor league action this year.

Nick Castellanos isn't off to a productive start to 2017, but through a small 40-plate appearance sample he has a 50.0% hard-hit rate with only a 3.6% soft-hit rate against southpaws. He's not likely to keep up such impressive numbers over the long run, but he does have a strong batted-ball profile against left-handed pitching over his career (36.0% hard-hit rate, 10.9% soft-hit rate and 42.8% fly-ball rate) and that's more than enough to make him a big threat against Skoglund tonight.
