4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/30/17
Following a drop in the batting order, Jonathan Villar's value takes a big hit in DFS. Who else should you avoid tonight?

Tommy Pham, OF, St. Louis Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $3,200

Thomas Pham has been excellent for the St. Louis Cardinals since getting called up, with a .427 wOBA and 42.3% hard-hit rate in 82 plate appearances. He's also getting starts out of the two-hole, an immense boost to his value.

Opposing pitcher Kenta Maeda has struggled to replicate last year's success as far as ERA is concerned (5.08), but his peripherals suggest he's been more-or-less the same pitcher.

Maeda has a 3.77 SIERA with a 23.7% strikeout rate and 14.4% swinging-strike rate, numbers you don't really want to mess with. And he's maintained his dominance over righties, fanning them 27.7% of the time, and limiting them to a 24.6% hard-hit rate.

Despite his hot start, Pham still struggles with strikeouts, whiffing 23.2% of the time. Even if he gets another start near the top of the lineup, with a difficult matchup against Maeda, it's safer to look elsewhere for value.
