After an uncharacteristically quiet year from the plate in 2016, Giancarlo Stanton bounced back nicely with a .374 wOBA and .268 isolated slugging (ISO) through 219 plate appearances in 2017.

Stanton isn't making as much hard contact as we're used to seeing, but he's still a more-than-viable option. His 36.3% hard-hit rate isn't by any means a low mark, and that number soars to 46.4% if we look at his splits against southpaws.

He draws a great matchup against lefty in Patrick Corbin, who's opened the year with a 4.29 SIERA, after posting a shaky 4.38 in 2016. Corbin has been especially bad against right-handed hitters over those two seasons, getting tagged for a .369 wOBA, 4.60 xFIP and 38.1% hard-hit rate.
