Max Scherzer doesn't draw a matchup quite as favorable as Archer's tonight, as the Los Angeles Dodgers rank top-10 with a 106 wRC+ against right-handed pitching. Like the White Sox, though, the Dodgers have a 23.2% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching, leaving plenty of room for upside in the matchup.

Scherzer has already shown some elite strikeout potential with strikeout rates north of 30% in each of the last two seasons, but this year's 33.6% is on pace to be a career-high, and it ranks second among qualifying pitchers. He's also on pace for a swinging strike rate above 15.0%, which would be the best of his career.

Combining the more difficult matchup with a higher price-tag means he's probably not as strong an option as Archer in cash games, but his elite ceiling makes him an outstanding tournament play.
